SPIRITUAL teacher Francine Marsich-Mullins has recently returned home to New Zealand after 10 years in Europe.

While her husband took up a professional rugby position in Ireland, the mother of two continued a self-help path which she began in 1988.

In 2002 she undertook tutelage from the Padmacahaya Foundation in spiritual studies.

During her time in Ireland she co-ordinated numerous training workshops with the foundation, something she says she relished. “I love seeing the changes that take place from when a person comes in and when they leave, like a weight has been lifted and they have the tools to do it themselves.”

Four years ago she was chosen by the founder Irmansayah Effendi to take up a teaching role.“It’s a rare position and one I feel very humble in accepting,” says Francine. Benefiting from her new position is a growing number of New Zealanders who are learning the practise called Open Heart.“In general, we refer to our hearts often by saying such things as: heart to heart, heartfelt, whole-hearted, from the bottom of my heart.”But Francine says it is possible to recreate the heart-warming feeling that a child, event or successful moment can generate by following a simple, step by step natural method.“It’s the spiritual heart which identifies with those feelings of joy and happiness.”The Open Heart technique although it is spiritual it is not connected to a religion.“We do connect to a higher source and refer to it as True Source our creator.”

Twenty-two countries and 70,000 people are practising the Open Heart technique.Francine says she has noticed that people are searching for something more in their lives.“And to find that something within their very being means a whole different approach to life – without stress, anxiety or expectations.”
